Sashalee Shakes – Executive Director
Sashalee Shakes is a dedicated senior living professional with over twelve years of experience in healthcare and more than nine years in leadership roles within assisted living communities. Throughout her career, she has remained deeply committed to delivering compassionate, individualized care while fostering open, respectful communication with residents and their families. She brings extensive experience in assessing residents’ psychosocial and activities of daily living (ADL) needs, developing and coordinating comprehensive care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure dignified, safe, and consistent support.
Sashalee’s leadership style is hands-on and collaborative, grounded in accountability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to quality care. Over the course of her career, she has advanced through several key leadership positions, including Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director, Business Office Manager, and Resident Services Director. These roles have strengthened her expertise in community operations, regulatory compliance, resident services, financial oversight, and staff development. Each step in her professional journey has enhanced her ability to manage complex responsibilities while cultivating a supportive, family-centered environment for residents and their loved ones.
She holds multiple professional certifications and remains committed to ongoing education and professional development. Sashalee firmly believes that continuous learning is essential to meeting the evolving needs of residents, families, and staff. She is passionate about creating safe, supportive, and nurturing assisted living environments where residents feel respected, families feel heard, and team members feel valued.
Outside of her professional life, family is her foundation. She is married and a proud mother of three children, ages 15, 8, and 4. She values quality time with her family and believes that maintaining a strong family life shapes her leadership approach, deepens her empathy, and strengthens her commitment to compassionate care.
Missy Antonio – Sales & Marketing Director
After doing accounting work for many years, Missy decided on a career change to the medical field and obtained her CNA/GNA. She then began working for an in-home company and she knew working with seniors was her calling. In her role at Charter Senior Living, Missy is passionate about helping families navigate the journey of moving a loved one into the community. Her hands-on approach during the move-in process provides peace of mind so families and new residents feel comfortable every step of the way.
Missy loves coming to work each day with “each of her 60 grandparents” with whom she shares a close bond. She enjoys boating, fishing, the beach, and spending time with her family.
Chef Tommy – Executive Chef
Chef Tommy has been in the restaurant business for over 30 years and specializes in Italian cuisine. He first started his love in the kitchen as a cook at Sabatino’s Italian restaurant. He also has over 15 years of experience supervising the kitchen for a nearby retirement community. In his spare time; he enjoys vacationing and spending time with his wife and daughters. They own a vacation home in Florida, which he escapes to when he can. Tommy has a funny side to him and enjoys conversing with the residents and his peers. He has been part of our team since August. He loves to wine and dine with our residents and share his love of cooking with the staff!
